Changes on Squidoo

I’ve heard time and again that “change is the only thing that is permanent in life.” I suppose being on Squidoo is not any different. I have not been on the site for a year at this time but have seen a number of changes already. I guess that change can be good as well. It does bring about activity. In my case, I’m now working on updating all my 89 lenses at this point. Yeah, I guess change can be good indeed.

I’m going to miss being a Squid Angel as the program is going to be scrapped too. But I’m also a Rocket Squid Greeter and would need to work double time on catching up with the loads of new lenses each week. Plus, I would need to find more inspiration for coming up with new lenses. I do intend to work on reaching my current goal of 100 lenses at least. That’s still on my to-do list. A day at a time… time flies by too fast.

Earning Money on Squidoo

So there I was doing some spring cleaning of my files on this borrowed notebook, then I noticed two screen caps that I have made from previous months on my first two months of earnings on Squidoo. So can you actually earn from Squidoo? Yes, you can. That’s my simple answer. But it’s not going to be a lot overnight. Sure, there are lots of success stories on Squidoo and various other writing sites. But I personally have yet to reach that stage.

Anyway, if you’re wondering what earning would be like on Squidoo, here are the two screen caps that I’m sharing.

August earning

September earning

If you’re new to Squidoo and are wondering when you’ll get paid, it’s usually two months after you have lenses that generate enough traffic. I have shared on my previous post about the tier structure that gets your lenses on the payment radar on Squidoo. I’m lucky to have had earnings even on my first two months as a member.

There are a few changes taking place on Squidoo right now. I work hard on my lenses so I hope that I continue to earn despite these changes. Most of my lenses are highly personalized. Sometimes, that’s a good thing. At other times, that’s not. Like I previously mentioned, some of the lenses that earned more for me were not necessarily the ones with the highest traffic. They were however more focused on certain topics like my Roswell lens.

Personally, I would suggest to have a niche topic on which to write. That way your lenses are more targeted to a specific group of people. I couldn’t say that I have good mastery on a certain niche so I go by Squidoo quests and see which ones I could contribute to. So at this point, I’d say I’m a work in progress as far as writing on Squidoo is concerned. But that’s okay as learning is a lifelong process. I’m just glad to be working on improving my skills on a day to day basis.

Before I wrap up, I invite you to visit my profile on Squidoo : iamraincrystal on Squidoo. Do visit my lenses. I have now published 87 of them as of this writing. See you there! πŸ™‚

Six Months As Squidoo Lensmaster

Make Money on SquidooWell almost anyway! I joined Squidoo as lensmaster last 28th July 2012. It will be six months come next week. Time flies by too fast! It makes me feel like the earth is spinning faster and faster each year. LOL! πŸ˜€

So it’s almost six months and to date, I have around 79 Squidoo lenses. Somehow I still feel that there’s a lot left to be learned. Plus, I want to write more lenses as I have loads of ideas. Most times, I have trouble organizing ideas in order to come up with a sensible lens with valuable content.

I must admit that most of my lenses centered on seasonal gift guides or celebrations. I would need to come up with more evergreen topics. That’s the only way to gain more traffic. More traffic.. more earnings. However, that’s not always the case. Some of my lenses with lesser traffic have been the ones that have generated sales via Amazon. Indeed! πŸ™‚

Ideas and concepts are abundant; however, it’s not as easy when it comes to turning them into concrete lenses. What happens is I try to play them in my mind and visualize on how I would want my lens to look. Jotting down ideas helps me a lot too. However, there are times when I lose interest or feel that the end result would not come out as I expected. That’s when procrastination sets in. That is indeed one of my biggest challenges.

So, now that I’ve been a member for quite some time. Does Squidoo pay? I’m sure you’d like to know!

You see, you’d need to wait two months before getting paid for your high-tiered lenses.

Tier 1 — 1 – 2,000
Tier 2 — 2,000 – 10,000
Tier 3 — 10,001 – 85,000

I’ve been starting in October 2012. My very first payment was pretty memorable as it rounded off to exactly $1.00! πŸ˜€ I guess that’s better than none. So, yes, Squidoo pays and is a good way to earn some extra cash online.Β To date, I’ve received around almost $18.00 from Squidoo. I will need to keep coming up with quality lenses to keep the traffic and income coming! If you haven’t joined Squidoo, I encourage you to give it a try, esp. if you have a penchant for writing and have interesting hobbies and vacation stories. Happy New Year 2013!

Happy New Year! Welcome 2013! The year is off to a busy start. Holidays are over! I must admit that it is a bit tough getting back on track. But there are goals to set and Squidoo lenses that need to be done. πŸ™‚ Yes, life does go on.

I still wonder what 2013 has in store for me. I hope that it will be a pretty good year with more blessings of joy, peace, prosperity, and good health. May you enjoy the same thing! πŸ˜€

I also just realized that December just passed. Now that it’s a new month, I will also need to create a new SquidAngel Blessings lens for January. I better write that down so I won’t miss it. I do need to get busy!

I now have 74 Squidoo lenses. My next goal is to hit 100 so that I can try and move up the ladder. Plus, I would need to come up with more evergreen topics. It’s a bit tough on traffic when your selection focuses on seasonal topics. So that’s it for now! Have a great celebration! I hope that you’re spending quality time with your family and loved ones!

Till next time… Ta-tah! Happy New Year 2013!

By now, most of the world has celebrated Christmas! πŸ˜€ As you know, Christmas time is a busy time, esp. for those who are preparing Christmas dinner.

Ours is really simple. We’re all quite content with Mom’s homemade spaghetti. In fact, it’s something we look forward to each year.

Now that Christmas is almost over, there’s still the New Year’s celebration to look forward to. But it clearly is time to plan for future Squidoo lenses. πŸ™‚

For now, have a Blessed and Merry Christmas!
