It’s An Honor to Be A SquidAngel!

I'm a SquidAngel!

It is such an honor that I have been accepted as a SquidAngel! I have been having a grand time being a Squidoo lensmaster since I joined the site towards the end of July this year. I have given a lot of time and effort too in creating the many lenses that I now have in my name — a total of 69 lenses with a few more in the works.

I know that I have grown much in such a short time. That’s also due to the inspiration that I get from other Squidoo lensmasters. For me, it’s fun being able to create lenses in a variety of topics. I do know that I would need to find my own niche in order to be more successful and more recognized as an expert in any field. Moreover, I feel that now I’m ready to give back to others for all the many blessings I have also received from fellow Squidoo lensmasters, esp. the many SquidAngels who have blessed and continue to bless several of my lenses. πŸ˜€

This post is actually a few days late as I became a SquidAngel last 6th December 2012. However, I had to wait a day till I can actually go out and bless other lenses as I needed to be “activated.” Right now, I’m planning on putting together a monthly SquidAngel blessing lens, starting with my December blessings. Since it’s Hanukkah and Christmas seasons, I would be focusing on these themed lenses for the month of December 2012. Watch out for more updates soon!

I’m Now A Monster Squid at Squidoo!

Monster Squid at Squidoo

Today, I’m simply happy to share that I’ve finally been accepted to the Giant Squid Club (50 level) — Monster Squid! πŸ˜€ Yey! To date, I have created 60 lenses. And I’d be happy to keep on creating lenses. I’m really glad that I joined Squidoo.

I’ve also just received my third purple star forΒ The Kingdom of Fantasy (Geronimo Stilton) – A Book Review. That will be my topic for next time. I know I still have so much to learn, but I’m glad that I can keep growing more day by day.

What next for me on Squidoo? Well, I have yet to receive an award for LOTD (Lens of the Day). Plus, I’ve applied to be a SquidAngel so I can pay it forward to new and baby squids on Squidoo. After all, a few of my lenses have received a SquidAngel blessing here and there. πŸ˜€

There’s always the next level up… Giant Squid Club (100 Level). Until such time, I’d enjoy myself in being part of the Squidoo family. Do join me in my journey! Without readers, writing won’t be half as much fun.

Happy weekend! Ta-tah! πŸ™‚

Favorite Recipes from My Childhood: A Lensblography

A few months down the line as a lensmaster, I’m still having the time of my life creating lenses about diverse topics on Squidoo.

It’s been a little over three months since I joined the site. I now have around 58 lenses. I do try my best to come up with really good ones, though I know that I still have much to learn.

I’m featuring this lens ‘coz this is my second lens that earned me a purple star. Yey! πŸ˜€

Purple Star on Squidoo

What’s This Lens About?

On this lens I shared three homemade recipes, adobo, beefsteak, and pastillas de leche. If you like Filipino dishes, this is something to check out! It’s the first time that I’m sharing Mom’s “secret recipes.” Read more here.

Do you have fond memories of your mom’s cooking? Here are myΒ favorite recipes from my childhood. Plus, I’m sharing a new dessert recipe that I learned to make recently.

Related Lenses

This was the first lens I created on Squidoo that featured the recipe module. I can cook, but it’s not my main hobby or my most favorite thing to do. I wouldn’t even consider myself as a food enthusiast. Sure, I like to eat — my size shows it LOL! However, I haven’t shared a lot of recipes. There really is a first time for everything.

Some of my other recipe lenses:

The Quick and Easy Way to Make Pumpkin Pancakes

The Quick and Easy Way to Prepare Vegetable Chowder

The Quick and Easy Way to Prepare Homemade Chicken Nuggets

Apple and Prune Cream Cobbler Recipe

What I Learned Making This Lens

Well, I learned how the recipe module works on Squidoo. This lens was my first recipe sharing lens. As you can see from the above list, I’ve shared a few more recipes in some of the quests that followed Mom’s homemade recipes.

What I Didn’t Learn Making This Lens

Although this lens is one of my earlier lenses, having been created some time in August, it’s a bit sad to note that it hasn’t earned any royalties to date. πŸ™ It does have content and it is original, but I guess I do need to learn to write more popular and reader-oriented lenses. That way, my lenses would be guaranteed of traffic all year round.

Next time around, I will share more about Squidoo earnings! πŸ™‚

Bye October.. Happy Halloween! myspace graphic comments

I will surely miss the season as I did come up with a number of Halloween lenses this year. You see, it’s my first Halloween on Squidoo. πŸ™‚ I suppose that’s why I was quite excited. I hope that I would be able to sustain my lens making ability. I’m having quite a challenge with coming up with quality Christmas lenses. I do need to step up as I’m getting a bit behind already.

Anyway, it’s time to say good bye October and welcome November. Pretty soon, the year will be over once again. Let’s enjoy the rest of the weeks to come this 2012. myspace graphic comments

How We Care for Our Guinea Pigs: A Lensblography

After 36 lenses, I finally received a purple star for one of my lenses. This one is my second lens at Squidoo. I wanted then to document our pets, Gin and Nea, so I told their story via a Squidoo lens.

What’s This Lens About?

My daughter has always wanted to own a pet or two. This time it’s about our guinea pigs, Gin and Nea. She brought them home before Christmas last year. Read more here.

As of this writing, I have yet to write more pet related lenses.

What I Learned Making This Lens

I learned that each lens that you work on can be something that you build on till you get your desired results. I also learned the importance of keeping your lenses updated. This was my second lens and I have since created lots more after it, but I did go back a few times to make some additions. I’m still planning on more improvements for this lens.

What I Didn’t Learn Making This Lens

At the time I made this lens, I had to learn lots more from using Squidoo. Naturally, I didn’t learn all that I know now from writing my first few lenses. I’ve still a long way to go, and so I treat each day as a brand new learning day. πŸ˜€
